Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020

This week began with spending time devoted to bringing awareness to our Hands Across the Sands event.  It began with a local campaign here in Victoria.  My curiosity about what other locations in Victoria may be hosting these gatherings led me to our global map at  From here I was able to see British Columbia’s and the rest of Canada’s participation in this important event.  I discovered 7 locations in B.C. and 2 in the rest of Canada.

It turned into an awareness campaign to encourage more Canadian contribution for gathering as I tried to softly challenge my fellow Canadians.  Going to social media pages I believed would have a similar meaning I came across the most amazing material that fellow world citizens created through their passion for change.  Being exposed to this material was heart opening and the subtle force behind my mission turned into a softer more heartfelt connection and became easier and lighter.  It lead to world sites and an awareness campaign to the world of this great opportunity that began in Florida by David Rauschkolb.

After watching poignant videos, ones deeply connecting to the  reasons for freely giving to an event like this one, I came across this one, the official video –

United Nations Decade on Biodiversity

I hope it too will inspire you in a meaningful way.
